The Philippines bested Singapore to retain the Championship trophy. The Philippines also won this event previously in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014. Like last year, Thailand joined the event this year as a guest team fielding players only in individual events.

In the individual events, Singapore triumphed by winning the top three men’s awards as well as the top female and third place awards. The Philippines took the second place honors in the female category.
